Photoshoot: Laguna Gloria

This past weekend, we took our Aster dress to Laguna Gloria for a little photo shoot. Laguna Gloria, originally the party estate of legendary badass Clara Driscoll, is now one of The Contemporary Austin's two locations. The building, constructed in 1916 and modeled after an Italian villa, is brimming with charming details, like crystal chandeliers and colorful tiles.

According to the tour we took, this decorative window is a scale version of one originally created for the San Jose mission in San Antonio!

The equally picturesque grounds are home to contemporary sculptures by artists like Paul McCarthy and Do Ho Suh. The location is very popular for weddings. I'm no wedding planner, but I'd highly recommend it. It's such a peaceful, lovely place, overlooking the Colorado river. More info from the tour: When Clara Driscoll was landscaping the grounds, she used dynamite to level the natural rock hill to create a terraced effect.
